Kidnap pair warned of life term
Two Nottingham men who admitted kidnapping a man who was due to give evidence against a paedophile have been warned they can expect life imprisonment.

Joseph Pownall, 23, and David Rose, 19, who are both from St Ann's appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday.

The pair admitted false imprisonment and causing grievous bodily harm with intent to Graham Harris in April this year.

Rose also admitted arson with intent to endanger life at a house in Willow Road in Balderton, Nottinghamshire, on the same date.

Unconscious

Mr Harris was snatched from his flat in Newark by three men who marched him to the River Trent.

He was stripped and hurled into the water, where the men threw rocks at him before running away.

Mr Harris, who suffered a broken nose and injuries to his feet, lost consciousness and was found the following morning by a dog walker.

He recovered and was able to give evidence at Nottingham Crown Court against a man accused of indecency with a child, who was later convicted.
