Woman charged after street death

A woman has been charged with murder following the death of a man who was found lying in a city street.

Robert Sturdy, aged 40, was discovered lying in Lynmouth Road in the Henley Green area of Coventry on Friday evening.

Officers found him unconscious in the street suffering from head injuries.

Mr Sturdy was taken to Walsgrave Hospital where he died at about 0800 BST on Saturday.

A 19-year-old woman has been charged with murder and was due to appear before Coventry Magistrates Court on Monday.
