Police hunt school pool vandals
Vandals are being hunted by police in Guernsey after £1,000 worth of damage was caused to an island's school's swimming facilities.

St Peter Port School was targeted despite improved security measures at the site.

Vandals ripped away security caging and climbed over the roof to enter the school before destroying roof lights over the kitchen area close to the pool.

Bottles and broken glass were also thrown into the pool, which is used by various play schemes and lifesaving groups during the school holidays.

The damage means the pool will now be closed for the rest of the summer.

The headteacher of St Peter Port School, Ken Wheeler said he was extremely disappointed by the attack.

Detectives are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
