Teacher denies assault charge
Hazel Dick
Hazel Dick is still teaching at the school
A teacher has denied a charge of religiously aggravated assault against a pupil.

Hazel Dick, 42, of Squires Gate, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, pleaded not guilty when she appeared before Peterborough Magistrates Court on Friday.

It is thought the charge relates to an incident in which a female pupil was asked to remove a Muslim headscarf because it was not school uniform.

The case against Ms Dick was adjourned until 31 October.

She will return to Peterborough Magistrates Court when it is expected she will be committed to crown court.

She was granted unconditional bail.

An order was made by magistrates which prevents the identification of the victim or the school.

Mrs Dick has not been suspended from her job at the school.
