MoD increases service benefits
The MoD announced many changes
|
The MoD has announced a raft of benefit changes for service personnel, including an increase in the basic widow's pension, benefits for unmarried partners, and cover for all deaths in service, not just those in conflict.

The new scheme will scrap the present system of war disablement pensions and make it harder for people to claim for injuries that happen after April 2005.
We discussed the changes and the criticisms with Ivor Caplin, the Minister for Veterans and Tom House of the Royal British Legion.
