The president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, is in Malaysia for an official visit.
He is expected to sign an agreement to supply 18 Sukhoi-30 fighter aircraft for the Malaysian air force, in a deal estimated to be worth $900m.
On Tuesday, Mr Putin is due to receive an official welcome at parliament.
Later, he will launch a Malaysia-Russia Business Council before holding talks with the Malaysian prime minister, Mahathir Mohamad.
