Rescue team finds two bodies
Cuillins
The mens' bodies were found in the Cuillins
Mountain rescuers searching for a climber on the Isle of Skye have found two bodies.

Members of the Skye Mountain Rescue Team were called out late on Thursday evening to look for John Sykes, 58, who had fallen between 800 and 1,000ft while crossing a rocky path on Sgur A Mhadaidh in the Cuillins.

On Friday morning, the team discovered the remains of one man and, in the same area shortly afterwards, they also found the body of Mr Sykes, an industrial chemist from Huddersfield.

There has been no confirmation of the identity of the remains.

Mr Sykes, a climber with more than 30 years of experience, was with his brother Barry when he fell to his death.

Barry Sykes descended the mountain and raised the alarm from the Glenbrittle Youth Hostel.
