A heart consultant currently suspended from Coventry's Walsgrave Hospital will resume teaching medical students.
Raj Mattu will return to his post at the University of Warwick for the first time since being suspended from his post in February last year.
His suspension followed allegations of bullying junior doctors, although his supporters claim he was victimised for publicly criticising patient care at the hospital.
Former patients and members of the local Sikh community formed the Raj Mattu Reinstatement Committee to campaign on his behalf.
They believe he was singled out because of his outspoken views over patient care.
They have called for the hospital trust to reinstate him.
He criticised the Trust after it came under fire from the Commission for Health Improvement which found "serious" areas of concern with patient care at the hospital.
