Two men had to jump to safety

Police have released the names of the woman and child who died in a house fire in York.

Fire crews were called to the house in Kingsway West in Acomb just before 0300 BST on Saturday.

The body of Andrea Jean Robinson, aged 36, who was also known as Ruby, was found inside the house.

Her three-year-old daughter Sky died while being taken to hospital.

Two men who were also in the house were injured when they were forced to jump from a first floor window.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are continuing but there appear to be no suspicious circumstances.
