Bullring countdown underway
The final countdown to the opening of the new Bullring shopping centre in Birmingham is underway.

An official clock will be switched on in Great Charles Street in the city on Monday.

It will count down the 31 days to go until the new centre's stores open to the public on 4 September.

An estimated 8,000 jobs will be created and Debenhams and Selfridges will open flagship stores.

The £500m development will feature more than 130 shops and restaurants.

It will have direct access to New Street and Moor Street stations and 3,000 car parking spaces.

The 110,000 square metre development is on the site of the original Bull Ring market place which served city shoppers in the 1800s and became the innovative 1960s shopping centre which was demolished for the new building.
