Photo lead in credit card fraud
A man police want to question in connection with a credit card scam
The man's photo was taken by a passer-by with a mobile phone
A photograph taken by a quick-thinking passer-by on his mobile phone could help trace a gang of credit card fraudsters.

Police in Wiltshire are hunting a group of people spotted carrying out a scam at a cashpoint in Marlborough.

The trick involves one gang member dropping a £10 note next to someone as they use a cash machine, and pointing out that they have dropped some money.

As the person bends down, another member of the gang removes their card from the machine and swipes it through a hand held card scanner before handing it back to the victim.

The card's details can then be used to make a fake 'cloned' version which is then used without the victim's knowledge.

In the latest con attempt on Tuesday, people standing in the queue became suspicious, and chased the three men away. A card scanner was found nearby.

Officers investigating the incident are warning people using cashpoints across the area to be vigilant, and have appealed for anyone with information about the gang to contact them.
