Jobs fear at meat factory
Ninety jobs are to go with the closure of a meat processing plant in Nottinghamshire.

Dalehead Foods in Mansfield Woodhouse says swine fever, foot and mouth disease and foreign pork products are to blame for the cutbacks.

The firm has operated a plant in Nottinghamshire for 15 years and is one of Britain's largest pig slaughterers and processors.

Across the country they employ 1,500 staff.

In a statement officials said the packaging site on Old Mill Lane Industrial Estate had been unable to recover its costs since the start of the year.

The site will close at the end of September.

Managers say they are hoping to redeploy workers within the group or find them alternative employment.
