Man shot at his home

A man was in hospital on Friday after being shot at his home in Liverpool.

Police were called on Thursday night to the house in Toxteth following the incident at about 2015 BST.

Officers are searching for a man who was seen running away from the house shortly after the shooting in Acorn Court.

Merseyside Police said on Friday it is not clear whether the victim's injuries are life-threatening.

House-to-house inquiries have been carried out at the scene to try and establish the motive for the shooting.

A police spokesman said: "Police are currently following up a number of leads.

"The motive for the shooting is not clear."
