Woman found stabbed in field

A young woman has been found stabbed to death in a field.

Officers from Thames Valley Police made the discovery just after 2100 BST on Saturday, near to Littleworth Road, Burnham, Berkshire.

The woman, in her 30s, had suffered mulitple stab wounds, a spokeswoman for the force said.

Scenes of crime officers were at the scene on Sunday and were treating the death as suspicious, she said.

A post-mortem examination was due to take place on Sunday and a formal identification on Monday.
