Man charged over bridge threat
Tamar Bridge
The Tamar Bridge was shut for almost two hours
A 40-year-old Cullompton man is due to appear before Plymouth magistrates on Monday charged with making a malicious bomb threat.

It follows an alleged incident on Saturday night on the Tamar Bridge.

Police were alerted after a member of the public called them from the bridge.

It was then closed for two hours.

Avon and Somerset and Gwent Police forces also closed both Severn Bridge crossings, but both bridges were opened soon afterwards.

The Tamar Bridge was reopened to traffic shortly before midnight.
