Fire bomb attack on cafe
Two petrol bombs have been thrown at a cafe used by Kurdish people in Hull.

Police and firefighters were called to the Azadi Bistro in Middleton Street at 0140 BST on Saturday.

One bottle containing petrol had been thrown at the front shutters and another was found on the rear balcony of the premises.

The cafe, which was empty at the time, suffered smoke and burn damage.

'Disgraceful attack'

Superintendent Patrick Geenty of Humberside Police said: "This is a disgraceful attack and a team of police officers are investigating the full circumstances of the incident and we will be gathering intelligence to identify the offenders.

"Fortunately the cafe was empty but it could have been a very different story if it had happened earlier in the evening."

Nearby businesses are being asked to hand over CCTV footage taken around the time of the attack.
