Barschak Fringe show ambushed
Aaron Barschak
Barschak has received some poor reviews for his show
Comic Aaron Barschak's one-man Edinburgh Fringe show was ambushed by a gang including a Saddam Hussein impersonator.

Midway through his act, about half a dozen people wearing Comedy Alliance t-shirts invaded the stage and attempted to wrestle Barschak to the ground.

They tried to cover him in masking tape as one of the gang grabbed his microphone and attempted to publicise his own show.

As Barschak - notorious for gatecrashing Prince William's 21st birthday party - regained control, he declared: "That's what comedy terrorism is all about."

The chaotic scenes happened as a crowd of about 40 watched his show at the Smirnoff Underbelly venue on the festival's opening day.

As Barschak shouted "I need arresting for impersonating a talented man", the saboteurs - including Saddam - thanked the crowd and left.

He had cancelled his scheduled Saturday show due to "exhaustion" and there were fears that Sunday's performance would also be called off.

But he took to the stage shortly after 1445 BST and performed his 50-minute act.
