Supermarket robberies 'linked'
Police have said three attacks by masked men on supermarkets in Kent are linked.

Two men wearing dark clothing and balaclavas forced their way into a Sainsbury's store in Angel Lane, Tonbridge, between 0300 and 0310 BST on Thursday.

Staff working in the shop were verbally threatened by the men but no-one was hurt, Kent Police said.

The robbers forced open the tills to take cash before joining a third person outside.

Detectives are connecting the robbery to an attempted break-in at the Sainsbury's branch in Linden Park Road, Tunbridge Wells, between 0200 and 0400 BST on Thursday.

Carrying a screwdriver

Three men wearing dark clothes and balaclavas attempted unsuccessfully to force the doors before leaving in a dark coloured saloon, a Kent Police spokesman said.

The robbery is also being linked to a raid on another Sainsbury's store in Otford Road, Sevenoaks, between 0330 and 0340 BST on Monday.

Two men, one of them carrying a screwdriver, again verbally threatened staff and stole money from the tills.

Detective Sergeant Neil Simcox said: "We have no doubt these incidents are linked.

"It is possible that, although it was in the early hours, someone may have seen a car driving away from the stores."

Anyone with information should contact Kent Police.
