Drivers warned of hold-ups
The Highways Agency is advising motorists that two sliproads onto the A1 at Newark will be closed this weekend.

The work is part of improvements to two roundabouts near the A46.

The entry and exit slip roads at the junction with the A46 and the A17 will be closed all this weekend.

The closures come as work continues on widening the carriageway on the two islands.

The work is seen as essential as traffic levels are expected to increase with the opening of a new business park in the area.

There are also temporary speed limits and lane closures on the nearby A1.

The Highways Agency says it is hoped the closures over the next couple of weekends will minimise disruption to motorists.

Diversions will be in place.
