Plans for £3.5m route to station
Traffic jam
The junction for the station often becomes a traffic bottleneck
Plans for a new £3.5m road to a Cornish station have gone on show to the public.

The scheme, at Bodmin Parkway station, includes the construction of a bridge over the River Fowey.

The Highways Agency says the project will ease traffic congestion on the A38.

The junction off the A38 which leads to the station is on a bend near a narrow bridge and often becomes a bottleneck when heavy lorries try to pass each other.

Cycle route

On Saturdays in the summer, more than 18,000 vehicles use the road.

The new route will include the building of a bridge and a roundabout.

The existing bridge will be turned into a pedestrian and cycle route.

The Highways Agency says construction of the scheme will involve little disruption for motorists.

The plans are on show at St Petrocs Church in Bodmin.
