Man burnt on live track
Rail track
Power to the line had to be shut off before the man could be removed
A man is recovering in hospital after suffering severe burns to his head and arms when he fell onto a live railway line.

Police and ambulances rushed to Havant Railway Station at 2115 BST on Friday to find the 19-year-old lying on the tracks.

He was only removed once the power supply had been cut off, and was taken to hospital.

A Hampshire police spokesman said the man's injuries were "serious but not life-threatening".

He added there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the fall.

The unnamed man was expected to be transferred to the specialist burns unit at Salisbury District Hospital.
