Cancer runner is back in the race
Jane Tomlinson
Jane Tomlinson has raised over £200,000 for cancer charities
Cancer patient Jane Tomlinson returns to the London Triathlon on Sunday, despite saying she would not take part in any more major races.

It is the second time Mrs Tomlinson, from Rothwell in Leeds, will have competed in the event expected to attract thousands to the Docklands area over the weekend.

Although terminally ill with breast cancer, she has also completed two London Marathons, the Great North Run and has cycled 1,060 miles from John O'Groats to Land's End to raise money for charity.

In April she announced she would not be taking part in any more major races to spend more time with her family.

But she has apparently had a rethink and will compete in the full Olympic distance triathlon on Sunday - the largest of its kind in Europe.

She is being joined by her daughters Suzanne , 18, and Rebecca, 15, who hope to help boost her fundraising total to above £250,000.

Suzanne will compete in the sprint and Rebecca took part in the Junior Triathlon on Saturday.

Mrs Tomlinson was awarded the MBE in June in the Queen's Birthday Honours and last year won the Helen Rollason Award at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
