Police seek 'potential witnesses'
Police are trying to trace three people who might be able to help their investigation into the attempted abduction of a teenage girl in Devon.

The incident happened at Clarence Hill in Dartmouth between 1530 and 1600 BST on Tuesday.

The 15-year-old says she was grabbed by a man, who threatened to stab her if she struggled, but she managed to run away and raise the alarm.

Police believe a woman jogger and an elderly couple might have seen the attacker, who ran off up Vicarage Hill when the teenager screamed.

Female jogger

The female jogger was seen at the junction of Vicarage Hill and Clarence Hill at about the time of the attack.

She was in her late 20s and was wearing dark lycra clothes.

The elderly couple, who the teenage girl spoke to, are believed to live in the Clarence Hill area.

The man police are hunting is described as white and about 30 years old. He is 6 ft tall, and with a slim build.

He was wearing a green shirt, with a green coat over his arm, and he carried a rucksack.
