The Police Service of Northern Ireland has won two out of three prestigious UK-wide policing awards.
The government-backed Tilley Awards are aimed at encouraging and recognising good practice in implementing problem-oriented policing.
South Belfast District Command Unit was honoured in the partnership category for the Get Home Safe campaign, which aimed to reduce and increase awareness of the dangers of alcohol-related violence.
Sergeant Robert Murdie said it was a major achievement to win the competition, which attracted more than 80 entries.
"This is particularly significant because it shows a strong willingness and commitment in organisations within Belfast to get involved with police to tackle crime issues and create a safer environment," he said.
Foyle District Command Unit won the award in the Crime and Disorder Reduction category, for a 43% fall in assaults in Londonderry city centre in a six-month period.
Tilley Award winners qualify to attend a policing conference in San Diego in the US.
