A 71-year-old heart patient has been robbed at a south east London hospital, police say.
The male patient, who had been attending the cardiac department of Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Greenwich, was using the toilets when he was attacked on Thursday.
Two men grabbed him and punched him before stealing his wallet, leaving him unconscious on the floor.
He was given emergency treatment and later discharged but then returned to hospital where his condition is not known.
Appeal for witnesses
Detective Constable Ashley Hayward said: "It was an entirely unprovoked attack on an elderly man by a pair of callous robbers."
He said police were appealing for witnesses who may have been in that part of the hospital on Thursday morning, in particular a man of about 70 who was leaving the toilet as the victim was entering.
One of the suspects is described as white, possibly of Eastern European appearance, aged about 30, 5 ft 8 in tall and of medium build.
He was wearing a dark blue Nike baseball cap and a dark blue jacket with two white strips down each sleeve.
