A man from Leicestershire has been jailed along with his son for attacking an off-duty policeman with pots and pans.
Leicestershire Crown Court heard how Adrian and Shane Smith barged into the home of Pc Richard Berrington last October.
The jury was told the pair called at the house in Sileby, claiming the officer's 20-year-old son Ian had hit Adrian Smith's daughter that evening.
The attack started when Pc Berrington refused them access.
The jury heard he was left with facial injuries and two broken teeth - and the attack ended only when his wife helped him get free.
Adrian Smith, 40, of Laurel Close, Mountsorrel, had claimed Pc Berrington started the trouble - but was convicted of causing actual bodily harm.
Shane Smith, 21, of Griggs Road, Loughborough, was found guilty of the same charge.
But a second son, Ricky, 23, of Hallifields Lane, Rothley, was cleared.
Sentencing Adrian Smith to 18 months' imprisonment and Shane Smith to a year in jail, Judge Richard Bray told them they had been convicted on "overwhelming evidence".
