Hutton inquiry opens
Lord Hutton
Lord Hutton has laid out the way he will conduct his inquiry into the death of Dr David Kelly. He also outlined the facts as he knows them, revealing interesting new details.

We looked at what the government, the media and politicians can expect from the inquiry, and asked if it will satisfy those hoping for a verdict on the government's case for war on Iraq.

View of the people
As Tony Blair becomes the longest serving Labour Prime Minister, we've re-assembled the Luton Seven - Newsnight's focus group of voters who swung from the Tories to Labour in 1997. They delivered their verdict on the Prime Minister.

It didn't make comfortable viewing for No10, nor even for Iain Duncan Smith.
