Arrests over pregnant woman attack

Four men have been arrested in connection with a serious sexual assault on a pregnant woman in Swindon.

The woman, 20, was left bound, gagged and naked after the sustained attack on 5 July.

She was in her house in the Elmina Road area with her eight-month-old baby daughter at the time, and had to be taken to hospital for treatment.

The men were arrested on suspicion of rape and false imprisonment after a series of raids in Swindon, Wootton Bassett and Wolverhampton on Thursday.

All four have been released on police bail pending further enquires.

A number of items were taken from the raids for examination.

Police launched Operation Detain and set up an incident room in Westlea following the attack.
