A 29-year-old man has admitted causing the deaths of two teenage girls who were knocked down on a footpath in North East Lincolnshire.

Kayla Young and Amy Jones, both 13, were struck by a car which mounted the path beside the A46 Laceby bypass near Grimsby on 18 May.

James Hill, of Harrington Street, Cleethorpes, pleaded guilty to two charges of death by dangerous driving at Grimsby Crown Court.

He also pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and will be sentenced at a later date.

David Priestley, 23, of Bonby Grove, Grimsby, pleaded not guilty to causing the girls' deaths.

He was released on conditional bail and is due to return to Grimsby Crown Court for trial in October.
