Opposition MP escapes Burma
The BBC has learnt that a jailed Burmese opposition MP has escaped from Burma.

Daw San San was jailed for passing state secrets to foreign broadcasters - including the BBC Burmese section.

She was elected as a member of parliament for the National League of Democracy in the election of 1990, which the Burmese military leadership refused to recognise.

She was imprisoned in 1997, but was released in August 2001.

Daw San San is now in an undisclosed location somewhere along the Thai-Burma border.
