A Jersey woman has admitted trying to hire someone to murder her daughter-in-law.
Marion Alice Smith, 68, from St Brelade, admitted in the Royal Court to unlawfully inciting a man to kill her daughter in law, Carole Ann Smith, between 20 October and 29 November, 2002.
She had been arrested in May.
In Mrs Smith's defence, Advocate Nina Benest said her client has co-operated fully with the police and had given candid admissions when questioned.
Deputy Bailiff Michael Birt released Mrs Smith on bail provided she stays in the island and surrenders her passport.
She will be sentenced later.
