Leon Adams with mother Angela Murphy
Leon Adams was found unconscious at Grangetown railway station
A man has been arrested in connection with the robbery and assault of a young man who was left in a coma after a Wales football match in Cardiff in February last year.

South Wales Police confirmed that they arrested the 24-year-old, who is from the Grangetown area of Cardiff, on Wednesday.

Leon Adams, 25, from Ystradgynlais in the Swansea Valley, was found unconscious at the entrance to Grangetown railway station in Cardiff in the early hours of Valentine's Day 2002.

He remains in Morriston Hospital in Swansea.

Mr Adams had been working in The Cottage pub in St Mary Street, Cardiff on the night of the attack, where he had worked for three months.

He was spotted on CCTV walking down St Mary Street just before 0200 GMT February 14, 2002, following the Wales-Argentina match.

He was found unconscious just after 0500 GMT.

An appeal on Crimewatch for people seen in the area of Grangetown station that night to come forward proved unsuccessful.

A poster campaign was also launched when Wales took on Bosnia in February 2003, as police appealed for information about the incident.
