Police seek assault witnesses
Jersey Police have made a fresh appeal for witnesses following what they are calling an unprovoked racial attack on a German exchange student.

The 17-year-old boy was assaulted near La Fregate Cafe on the Waterfront on Thursday evening.

The teenager was with his German girlfriend when he was attacked by about six young men.

He was punched in the face and body and was taken to hospital but released soon after.

Police say, from comments allegedly made by the attackers, they are treating it as being a racially motivated incident.

Officers are trying to trace a passing motorist who stopped and helped the victim between 2225 and 2240 BST.
