Charge brought over 1995 rape

A man has been charged in connection with the rape of a 12-year-old girl dating back to 1995.

Jani Mohamed Hassan was charged late on Thursday night by Oxford detectives, after he was arrested in Reading on a separate matter.

The 34-year-old was then detained over the attack on the young girl, which happened in New Inn Hall Street, Oxford, on 11 August 1995.

The bus driver, from Reading, was due to appear before Oxford magistrates on Friday.
