Jade death trial jury retires
Jade Slack
Jade died after taking five tablets
The jury in the trial of two people accused of killing a 10-year-old girl who died after taking five ecstasy pills has retired to consider its verdict.

Jade Slack died in hospital after taking the tablets near her home in Galgate, near Lancaster, in July 2002.

Rebecca Hodgson, 21, of Jackson Close, Lancaster, and her former boyfriend Wayne Wood, 22, of Highland Brow, Galgate, deny manslaughter.

Manchester Crown Court has heard prosecution claims that they had a duty to protect Jade from being exposed to the class A drug.

But Ms Hodgson and Mr Wood told the court they did try to put the pills out of Jade's reach.
