Police at triple death inquest
An inquest into the deaths of three teenagers who were killed in an accident on the A590 in Cumbria will continue on Wednesday.

Cumbria Police have carried out an investigation into why the car, which was carrying a group of five youths, left the road and crashed into a tree near Greenodd on 16 March this year.

Gareth Lewis, 18, and Victoria Clarke, 15, both from Grange-over-Sands were killed along with 19-year-old Anthony Ramsden, from Ulverston.

A fourth youngster was seriously hurt in the accident at Greenodd, between Kendal and Barrow-in-Furness.

Safety calls

The group were travelling from Grange to Ulverston in the early hours of the morning when the accident happened.

Furness Coroner Ian Smith has already opened and adjourned the inquest into their deaths.

He will hear police evidence at the inquest on Wednesday.

Mr Smith will also hear from the two teenage survivors of the crash.

The accident prompted further calls for the A590 to be made safer, including from Vicky's father Michael.
