A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was hit by a car in Peterborough.
Cambridgeshire Police said the 40-year-old was arrested following an incident in Potters Way at 1640 BST on Tuesday.
A silver Mitsubishi Shogun hit a man who was taken to Peterborough District Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
On Wednesday a police spokeswoman said the man, who has not been named, was no longer in a critical condition and was improving.
She also appealed for anyone who was in the Potters Way or Frank Perkins Parkway area and saw the incident to contact detective inspector Nick Hunt who is leading the investigation.
