Woman who spat at girl jailed
Stirling Sheriff Court
McLean was jailed at Stirling Sheriff Court
A woman, who spat in the face of a six-year-old girl, has been jailed for six months.

Pamela McLean, 24, was labelled "despicable" when she appeared in court in Stirling.

She spat at the girl as she was strapped in a child's seat in the back of her parents' car and could not get out of the way, the city's sheriff court was told.

The child's parents had stopped and wound down a passenger window to talk to McLean in the town centre in June this year.

An argument developed which ended in McLean, of Lower Bridge Street, spitting in the face of the frightened youngster.

'Despicable nature'

She denied assault by spitting at an earlier hearing but was found guilty.

Sheriff Wyllie Robertson, after considering background reports, told McLean she had a dreadful record.

He told her: "Having regard to the despicable nature of this offence and your previous convictions I am satisfied that no sentence other than a custodial one is appropriate."
