Darren Manders

Police have issued a fresh appeal for help in the hunt for the killer of a Teesside father-of-two found dead under a pile of logs.

The appeal comes on the day family and friends attend the funeral of 31-year-old Darren Manders.

The body of Mr Manders was found under a woodpile near Nunthorpe Village in Middlesbrough in early July.

Cleveland police have launched a fresh appeal for information, to coincide with the funeral at the town's Teesside Crematorium.

Mr Manders' body had lay undiscovered for some time. He had suffered massive head injuries.

He left behind two sons.

Police have already searched houses close to where Mr Manders lived in the Bowe Street area of Middlesbrough.

Mr Manders was first reported missing by his family on 27 June.

Detective Inspector Karnail Dulkul of Cleveland Police, who is leading the inquiry, said: "We still do not have all the information we need.

"We would urge anyone with information to come forward, especially at this time."
