The town has seen a number of road changes
There has been an angry meeting of traders in Kendal about continuing changes to the town's traffic system.

A minority walked out after losing a vote against the pedestriansation of the main shopping street.

Cumbria County Councillors are due to meet this week to talk about the next phase of changes, which could mean only buses and delivery lorries would have access.

The bus company Stagecoach has threatened to stop running services in the town, unless the proposals are in place by next spring.

Peter Boyd, the chairman of the retail forum says most traders want the change.

He said: "We obviously have a vocal minority who are opposing pedestriansation.

"The silent minority and the majority of traders in the town are for it, but with certain provisions.

"They don't just want to see pedestriansation, they want to see car parking go alongside it and they want better signs throughout the town."
