The family of a woman who was killed as she tried to stop a man stealing her car have thanked the public for their support and sympathy.

June Everitt, 52, died in Luton on Thursday 3 July and a man has been charged with her murder.

Her brothers Alan and Barrie Everitt said on Friday they had been overwhelmed with messages of support from the public.

In a statement issued through Bedfordshire Police the brothers said: "Many of you are asking us when her funeral will be held.

"Unfortunately there cannot be one for some time yet, although we hope to see many of you when the time comes.

"Please accept our apologies for not being able to meet with you all individually, but please accept this message as a token of our great appreciation for all you have done."

Manny Davis, 30 and of no fixed address, has been charged with Miss Everitt's murder and has been remanded in custody.
