Police out in force for match
The KC Stadium
The match is due to kick-off at 2000 BST
Hundreds of police officers will be on duty for Hull City's match with Leeds United amid fears of violence.

The high-profile operation will involve officers from West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, as well as the Humberside force.

It follows fears that the Yorkshire Day game will attract a large hooligan element.

Earlier in the week magistrates refused a police request for all the pubs and bars in Hull to close for eight hours before the game.

Intelligence examined

Police want to avoid a repeat of violent scenes which marred a pre-season "friendly" between Hull and Middlesbrough last year.

Paul Cheeseman, from Humberside Police, said: "There is always the potential for problems and we are looking at a range of intelligence sources before the game.

"There is an indication that there is an element coming to the city who may be prepared to cause problems.

"We have to be prepared to act accordingly."

The match is at Hull's KC Stadium and kicks off at 2000 BST on 1 August.
