Motorcyclist dies in collision

A motorcyclist has died after a collision in the Essex village of Stock, near Chelmsford.

The crash took place at about 1530 BST on Tuesday at the junction of High Street and Common Road.

Police said a green Daimler car was in collision with a Suzuki motorcycle, which had been travelling towards Galleywood.

The man on the motorcycle was taken by ambulance to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford, where he died.

His identity has not been released, but police said he was from mid-Essex.

Witnesses to the collision are asked to contact the Chelmsford Road Policing Unit.
