Teenager 'distraught' after attack
Police are investigating the attempted abduction of a teenage girl in Devon.

The 15-year-old says she was grabbed by a man and threatened at Clarence Hill in Dartmouth.

The incident took place between 1545 and 1600 BST on Tuesday.

The girl says she was grabbed and the offender threatened to stab her, although the girl did not see a knife and one was not used.

The man ran off up Vicarage Hill when the teenager screamed.

Distraught state

He is described as white and about 30 years old.

He is 6ft tall, and with a slim build.

He was wearing a green shirt with a green coat over his arm and he carried a rucksack.

Police say the teenage girl has been left in a distraught state, but she has no physical injuries.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the Clarence Hill and Vicarage Hill area of Dartmouth at about the time of the attack and may have seen the man to contact them.
