The dog has now been taken to a veterinary clinic for treatment
A Rotweiler has been found in a West Midlands park with a large knife in his shoulder.

The black and tan dog was discovered by a park warden in Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield, at 12noon on Thursday.

The knife, which had a six-inch handle, was still lodged in the dog's shoulder.

It has now been taken to a veterinary clinic for treatment.

West Midlands Police are searching for the dog's owners and are appealing for anyone who may have seen what happened.

His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The dog was not wearing a collar when he was found and police would like to trace its owners.
