Singer Carly Simon will finally disclose who inspired her 1972 hit song You're So Vain - but only to one fan.
She will tell the highest bidder in an auction next week to raise
money for Martha's Vineyard, the Massachusetts island where she lives.
But the winner must first sign an agreement never to repeat the secret, People magazine has reported.
Despite repeatedly being asked by interviewers, Simon, 58, has never revealed the name.
Mick Jagger, Cat Stevens, Warren Beatty and her ex-husband James Taylor have all been suggested as possibilities.

Sean Connery will attend a charity screening of his latest film in Prague to aid victims of last year's floods in the Czech Republic.
The Scottish actor was filming The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen in Prague when the floods hit the city last August.

The screening will take place on 12 August, a few weeks before the film opens in the UK at the end of September.
Asian film stars wow fans in Hong Kong
Asian stars Leon Lai and Ekin Cheng created a spectacle for crowds at the Hong Kong première of their action film Heroic Duo when they turned up in separate Porsches.
The film sees Cheng playing a cop who organises the temporary release of a criminal (Lai) from prison to help him in a theft investigation.
Hong Kong's Tsing Ma suspension bridge was closed off while the première took place.
The pair also attracted attention at a previous event by arriving separately, with one in a helicopter and the other in a speedboat.
