Street brawl victim named
A 27-year-old Coventry man has been named as the victim of a fatal street fight in Nottingham.

Amir Abdula Bakir, a Kurdish Iraqi, was stabbed to death on 8 September during a mass brawl in the St. Ann's area of Nottingham.

A post-mortem examination confirmed that Mr Bakir died of stab wounds.

So far 31 men have appeared in court in connection with the fight and a further two men have been arrested and charged with violent disorder.

Police say one of them, a 29-year-old man, has been released on bail and the other, aged 20, has been remanded in custody.

He is expected to appear before Nottingham Magistrates later this week.

The incident involved a gang of men fighting with iron bars, cricket bats and bricks in a large-scale disturbance in the early hours of the morning.
