Boyfriend denies double murder

Andrew Roberts was remanded in custody
A 22-year-old man accused of murdering his partner and baby daughter has denied the charge against him.

Appearing at Cardiff Crown Court on Thursday, Andrew Roberts is accused of killing Louise L'Homme and their 10-month-old daughter Tia Roberts.

The 23-year-old and her baby were found dead under an upturned bed at their terrace house in Tylorstown, in the Rhondda Valley, in February this year.

A post mortem examination revealed that they had been strangled.

Dressed in a white T-shirt, Mr Roberts spoke only to confirm his name and enter his not guilty plea.

The hearing lasted 20 minutes.

He was remanded in custody to until a trial, expected to last up to three weeks, in October.
