Car crash victim dies
A man who suffered serious injuries in a head-on car crash in Lancashire has died in hospital.

Nicholas Eastham, 24, died early on Thursday after the accident in Charnock Richard at about 0630 BST on Wednesday.

Mr Eastham, of Meadow Way, Coppull, was involved in the crash on Preston Road.

The other driver, 68-year-old June Baybutt from Stocks Lane, Eccleston, suffered a broken leg in the accident and was still in hospital on Thursday.

Both drivers were taken to the Royal Preston Hospital after fire crews cut them free from the wreckage.

Emergency crews later closed Preston Road in both directions.

Accident investigators have been examining the scene to establish how the crash happened.
