A man has attempted to abduct a teenage schoolgirl at knifepoint in south Wiltshire.
At 0810 BST on Monday, a 15-year-old girl was approached by a man in Ludgershall Road, Tidworth, and offered a lift.
She declined but the man became persistent, grabbed her arm and produced a knife from his pocket
The girl then kicked her attacker twice in the knee, forcing him to let go, and ran off, reporting the incident at her school.
The man is described as white, about 35 years old, 5ft 6ins tall and chubby.
He had a mole under his right eye and a thin goatee beard, and was wearing a black polo shirt, dark blue jeans and a navy blue baseball cap.
He was also wearing sunglasses, a gold chain around his neck and, in his left ear, he had a gold earring.
It is thought he was driving a 4x4 vehicle, possibly a green Land Rover, with tinted side windows and a scratch down the offside.
The wheels were silver-coloured and there were two rhinos on the rear wheel cover attached to the rear door.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
